DAY 3 AT THE ISBHF WORLDS

Day 3 at ISBHF Ball Hockey World Championships brought many more exciting games as teams looked to move up in their preliminary round table.
In the Women’s division, Team Canada improved to 2-0 with a 6-1 victory over Team Great Britain. Kendra Dunlop, Chelsea Karpenko and Nicole Latreille had 1 goal and 1 assist for the Canadians. Abbie Culshaw had the goal for Team Great Britain. Becky Dobson scored two goals to power Team USA to a 2-1 win over Team Czech Republic in a rematch of the 2017 Women’s World Championship final game. After Day 3, Team USA is at the top of the table with 7 points (3 games played), followed by Team Canada 6 points (2 games)

The Men’s division opened Day 3 with a game between Team Italy and Team Switzerland. Daniel Setacci scored 2 goals including the game winning goal as Team Italy secured a 3-2 victory. Frank Giustini added a goal and 2 assists. Danick Martel and Jordan Maher each had 2 goals and 1 assist as Team Canada defeated Team Haiti 8-0. Team Slovakia prevailed over Team Great Britain 8-1 as Lukas Pijak and Matus Liptak each contributed 2 goals and 1 assist. Vojtech Kristof scored for Team Great Britain. Team Finland had a goal and an assist from Toni Lampo and Juho Kangas to get by Team USA 4-2. After Day 4, Team Slovakia leads the table of Group A1 with 8 points (3 games played), followed by Team Czech Republic 6 points (2 games played). Team Canada is at the top of Group A2 table with 8 points (3 games played) with Team Greece second with 6 points (2 games played).

Remi Monaco had a goal and assisted on the game winning goal by JM Barrett as Team Hong Kong defeated Team Lebanon 7-3. Team Cayman Islands climbed back from a 3-0 deficit to beat Team Bermuda 5-4 in overtime. Scott Elliott of Team Cayman Islands tied the game late in the 3rd period and then scored the game winning goal in overtime. Team Cayman Islands lead the Group Q table with 7 points (3 games played), followed by Team Bermuda with 4 points (2 games played) and Team Lebanon with 4 points (3 games played).
